Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Paralegal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Paralegal is

Paralegal is a software tool that generates draft legal documents from information you provide. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using Paralegal does not create a lawyer client relationship between you and us.

3. Your responsibility

The documents produced are starting drafts. You are responsible for reviewing every document and for having it checked by a qualified advocate before it is signed, filed, registered or relied upon. Stamp duty, registration and attestation requirements vary by state and are your responsibility to confirm.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Do not share your account, and do not use the service unlawfully or to infringe the rights of others.

5. Professional details and enrolment numbers

You may add your name and Bar Council enrolment number to your account, and these details will appear on the documents you generate. By entering an enrolment number you confirm that it is your own and that you are enrolled with a State Bar Council in India. Paralegal does not verify enrolment numbers against Bar Council records.

Entering another person's enrolment number, or a number you do not hold, or otherwise using this service to represent yourself as an advocate when you are not, is a serious misuse of the service and may constitute an offence under the Advocates Act, 1961. We may suspend or terminate any account we reasonably believe is being used in this way, without refund. If you believe your enrolment number is being used by another person on this service, contact paralegal.admin@gmail.com and we will investigate.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the details you enter and for any consequence arising from them.

6. Subscription and payment

Paralegal is offered on a subscription basis at 199 rupees per month or 1,910 rupees per year, plus 18% GST. Payments are processed securely by Razorpay. Access continues for as long as your subscription is active. Free trials may be offered through promo codes.

8. Intellectual property

The Paralegal software, templates and branding belong to us. The information you enter and the specific documents you generate belong to you.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service running at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we may update, suspend or change features.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Paralegal is provided on an as is basis. We are not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or reliance on, documents generated by the service, or from errors, omissions or unavailability. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access where these Terms are breached.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Karur, Tamil Nadu shall have jurisdiction.
