Who we are

Paralegal provides an online legal document drafting tool. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

Account information, being your email address and optionally your name and Bar Council enrolment number. The documents you create, including the details you enter and the drafts you save. Payment information, which is handled by our payment provider Razorpay; we do not store your card details and receive only confirmation that a payment succeeded. Basic technical and log data needed to run and secure the service.

Why we collect it

To create and manage your account, to save and display your documents, to process subscription payments, to provide support, and to keep the service secure. We use your data only for these purposes.

How it is stored and protected

Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider Supabase. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access rules ensure each user can only see their own documents. We apply reasonable technical and organisational security measures.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers required to operate Paralegal, being our hosting, database and payment providers, and where required by law.

Your rights

You may access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or request deletion of your account and documents. Email paralegal.admin@gmail.com and we will act on your request within a reasonable time.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account we delete your documents and personal data, except anything we are required to retain for legal or accounting purposes.

Client information

Documents you create may contain the personal information of third parties, such as your clients. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to enter that information. We process it only to provide the service to you.

Changes

We may update this policy and will post the revised version on this page.
